Weather was not kind to our white Crocus banaticus.
Heavy rain and strong winds damaged most of the tender flowers,
not the ideal plants for open gardens.

When you are expecting high winds, you can erect a temporary wedge shaped barrier with the point of the wedge facing into the wind to protect fragile plants. Two sheets of junk plywood attached to deeply embedded stakes will work well. You can often find junk plywood on the debris piles at construction sites. If not, CD plywood is relatively inexpensive.
