Glasgow SRGC Show at Baljaffray Church Hall, Bearsden 29th April

Nurseries attending are: Ardfearn, Hartside, and Kevock.
There will also be a Members 50:50 stall as usual.
Looking forward to seeing everyone there at Baljaffray again on Saturday.

Dave Millward took the Forrest with the spectacular Rhodo Dora Amateis that was best rhodo at Perth a week ago .Not surpisingly it also won the Rhodo trophy.Cyril won the Joan Stead prize for best primula, the alpines 2001 trophy for a cushion plant as well as a merit certificate for Sax Snowcap and the 75th jubilee prize for a small pot of Hymenoxys.

David & Stella Rankin won Class A fo 6 small pots with it the Diamond Jubilee card, class 2 and the Archibald trophy for three plants different genera, class 3 and the Buchanan challenge cup for three rare plants.Steven Macfarlane received a merit cert for Trillium grandiflorum flore pleno and show sec Richard Green received a merit cert for Arisaema griffithii.

I took the Buchanan rosebowl for 6 large pans class 1 which included an Andromeda which took the Urie trophy for best eric other than rhodo, the Donald trophy for best Scottish native plant wth Salix reticulata, the Edward Darling trophy for three rhodos, the Stead prize for most bulb points and the Crawford challenge trophy for most first points.

End of the show. I'm told there were 12 exhibitors in the open section who brought 111 entries totalling 167 pots. Well done to everyone in the Glasgow show team.
