I sadly lost my Gymnospermium albertii this winter. I think it probably was too wet and too cold. How do people grow these plants? I have always been unsure about watering in particular. When should watering commence? Several species are snowmelt plants so I wonder if they would be better not watered until late winter? Any cultivation advice would be much appreciated, there is surprisingly little on the web.
Thanks
Paul

Mine grows alongside my Cape Bulbs Paul. I water it In September with them. Then just keep the plunge damp until I see the shoots emerge - often around Christmas time. I feel it would be more in character kept dormant for longer. I do wonder if it would be worth keeping it dry and warm until November before starting it. When I have lost it in the past it was due to being too damp in Summer.

Thanks Darren, it's always interesting and helpful to hear how others go about growing things. In future I will endeavour to keep them more on the drier side through the winter.
