Title: September 2022 in the Southern Hemisphere
Post by: fermi de Sousa on September 03, 2022, 12:33:11 PM
September is the time for daffodils!
We visited Murrays Road where Eve Murray grew and hybridized daffodils for many years on her farm at the end of the road. She planted out her excess bulbs outside the farm on the roadside where they still flower today.
Here are a few pics of what we saw
cheers

This is a very floriferous South African Bulbinella.
I'm not sure if it is B. floribunda or B. robusta; any suggestions?

Cyclamen persicum in a raised bed under a deciduous tree which affords it some protection from frost.
I won't be weeding out that "grass" because it's actually a galanthus!

Altun Ha Gold' is a great looking daff, does the corona fade to a paler colour as the flowers age?

Hi Jeff,
Altun Ha Gold is a sport of Altun Ha which fades but this one doesn't seem to do that. I have a feeling I actually got this as ALtun Ha.
cheers
