It's been very exciting to hear great news from UK New Year's Honours List! Scottish members in particular will be aware of Ronnie Loveland, all round good guy and alpine plant enthusiast from the Moray area of North East Scotland. Ronnie has been a big character in the likes of SRGC visits to Gothenburg Botanic Garden as well as the northern SRGC groups and our shows. He is also very well known , with his wife Joyce, for their decades long dedication to no only raising their own children, but also for fostering many dozens of children over the last 41 years. This dedication continues even today, in their seventies. Such dedication and good work is truly remarkable and it is wonderful to learn that Joyce and Ronnie have been awarded M.B.E.s ( awards of Member of the British Empire) in honour of their fostering work and commitment to the fostering service over these many years.
An honour very richly deserved - Congratulations to Joyce and Ronnie - two wonderful folks with the biggest of hearts!
