Seen in central Asia at 2700m asl growing in a thicket/ any ideas gratefully received

Frazer, could your plant be a Gentian. G. macrophylla?

It looks like Linum species. Possibly Linum olgae.

There's also Linum altaicum in the region but the pedicels are longer than the leaves.
