Post by: Hans J on May 13, 2008, 08:26:21 PM
Hi all ,

This morning we made a little walk to the Taubergiessen ( a protected nature area ) -it was the perfect time because there are a lot of flowering orchids .
Sorry but I'm not familar with the names - if anybody knows them ....

Lovely pictures.
I didn't know you also had Lochs in Germany. Is that where we get our word from? Scots folk call our churches 'Kirk' as in German.

Susan :

It means : Blue Hole ( in this part of the rivers Elz are wells which a strange physical quality - directly near the wells grows nothing and a little far are purple algaes .....) this is the reason for this name !
I think the similar language is why have lived in Scottland also celtic people ....

Hello Hans
Lovely orchids.
I have tried to identify the Orphys of the orchids (TG 10, TG 13, and TG18 )
I got only to the main group and it is Orphys spegodes for the yellow(TG 10) and Orphys holoserica for the two pink (TG 13, and TG18 ).
Hope You get a confirmation or a correction of the identification. I hope to be informed of the others as well.

Kind regards

Joakim
