I was searching through Chileflora and noticed they have recently restocked a number of viola seeds that they say they haven't had for a while.
atropurpurea, cotyledon, glacialis, maculata, polypoda, portalesia, reichei, rosulata, taltalensis, vulcanica and three unnamed species
I am not planning to buy any - I was looking for bulb seeds.

thank Diane,
these are beautiful species: it makes i want, but these species seem really difficult to succeed.
Has anyone ever managed to grow these species ?

I found some information about growing rosulate violas here:

There are reports of rosulate Violas grown in Europe but I don't know if cultivation was possible over a longer periode than one or two years.
The yellow flowering Vv. maculata and reichei are less difficult and the shrubby Viola portalesial also. They need the shelter of an alpine house over winter.

I placed a large order for seeds with Chileflora in April this year. The order was acknowledged and payment taken but the seeds never arrived and my many emails to the proprietor were ignored. I eventually placed a claim through Paypal who also could not get him to respond and I was reimbursed by Paypal in August...

To record a different experience, I ordered seeds from Chileflora on 25th October this year and they arrived without problem on 21st November.

I ordered seed in the early Spring and it came without a problem within 4 weeks.
I placed another order in July. It has not yet arrived. I have sent a few emails to Chileflora but have received no reply. As I am getting close to approaching the time limit for making a claim through Paypal I have now done so. No reply from Chileflora so far.
