The George Forrest archive at RBG Edinburgh is a fine memorial to the plant hunter. Without his efforts and those of his fellow hunters, our gardens would be much the poorer. Of course we in SRGC honour his memory with the name of our premier show award.
At the moment "the remarkable letter detailing George Forrest's dramatic escape from death whilst on expedition in China, is on public display in the Library Foyer until Saturday."
For those unable to visit, a transcript of the letter can be read online at https://go.shr.lc/2NA6TZ9
