Title: Mis- named Allium
Post by: Plantaholic Sheila on August 03, 2019, 06:03:46 PM
I hate to name plants incorrectly.
This was bought as Allium narcissiflorum...which I believe to be incorrect.
Please can someone help with an accurate name.
Would Allium senescens fit?
Thank you.

Tried to add 4 pics but files too big.

Is your plant flowering just now? I grow A.  narcissiflorum and it flowers in June for me. In fact I have just been out to harvest the seeds for the seed exchange.   My flowers are much darker pink than yours - I'm not sure if flower colour can be used as a means of ID here though....

Does it have spirally twisted leaves Sheila? I'm wondering if it might be a form of Allium senescens.

Best, Tristan

Thank you for helping.
In my question I asked if it might be Allium senescens...didn't know how to prove it.
Yes leaves are very twisted.
