Thank you for these stunning views. Very interesting creme form of poeticus and also I am glad to note the environment in which Fritillaria pyrenaica grows. (+ yellow variety of this!).

What a place! Magnificent to see this - thank you, Rafa!

N. poeticus above Montreux (26 May 2019): this is the best ‘crop’ that I’ve seen in the past 10 years. The perfume was intoxicating on an overcast day, so it must be overwhelming when the sun comes out. .

Is N. poeticus protected in Switzerland?
I’ve been searching for information about protection and, as far as I can find out, they aren’t protected (other than the general Swiss protection which limits commercial exploitation of natural flora and fauna).
Furthermore, it seems that it’s largely voluntary action by the farmers not to cut the fields (for hay/silage) too early in the spring so that the Narcissus can thrive. Adjacent fields can have either none or thousands of flowers, so they are clearly being managed differently.
Finally, there are signs asking visitors not to pick “too many” flowers, so it’s gratifying that I’ve never seen anyone picking them.

Hi Keith,
in "Biography of a Flower", Helen O'Neill mentions that the flowers are harvested in France to create 'narcisse absolute' that is "destined for high-end companies ...that focus on luxury goods"!

I am still battling away at my website so I can issue the list. In the meantime, I can show you some new varieties I registered this year – something to look forward to!
CITRON BABY
2 Y-Y: A favourite with visitors at our open day. 3.5cm wide fresh, pale lemon flowers on 15cm stems, Beautifully scented.
COLUMBA
10 Y-Y: The wide open flowers are a cool, very pale greenish lemon. Free flowering. Increases well.
-
FLURRY
1 W-W: Elegant, soft white miniature with a long, prettily frilled corona and slightly swept-back perianth on short stems.
FRESH BREEZE
6 Y-Y: Bright lemon, well reflexed flowers on short stems. 12cm high
FRISK
12 Y-Y: Deep yellow flowers with cone-shaped corona and slightly swept back corona. 18cm high

LEMON BREEZE
AW 2661-B 6 Y-Y: Bright lemon, slightly reflexed flowers on short stems. 12cm high.
LITTLE LEMON
AW 2660-2-14 2 Y-Y: 35mm wide, clear lemon, short-cupped flowers on short stems. 12cm high.
-
LITTLE WHIZ
6 Y-Y AW 2668-B Cute little hybrid with excellent show form, overlapping , very reflexed perianth and gently flared corona. Spicily scented. 13cm high.
PALOMINA
6 W-Y: My favourite of the bunch. Beautiful bicolour, white reflexed perianth and long bright lemon corona. Only 10cm high, it also has a strong perfume. The name comes from the fact that the image of several flowers reminded me of horses galloping towards the viewer (just me then?) and the horses just had to be the white and golden palominos.

PEACH TWIST
1 W-O : One to make daff exhibitors cringe, but picked out by visitors to my open day. Small trumpet daff with widely flanged and toothed corona which matures to soft peach, and twisted white perianth. Only 12-14cm high.
SEDNA
10 Y-Y: Selected hoop with upward-facing bright lemon-yellow flowers on short stems. Stamens and especially the style exserted. Free flowering. Increases well. Spicy scent.

And finally....
SNIPELET
2 W-Y: Just like Snipe, but smaller! Only 15cm high, flowers just over 40mm wide.
