Title: Mystery
Post by: johnw on May 13, 2019, 01:41:23 AM
Ken planted this at some point last year, his mind has gone blank.  I thought it was an ACE Allium but he says he'd never plant one in this spot. Ideas anyone?

The red petioles make me think Allium triccocum.  Does the foliage go summer dormant?

John, could it be an Erythronium?

The picture would 'say' more if taken from the side not from above John. Hard to say if the leaves are on a stem or not.
Young plants of various Lilium and Polygonatum species can look like it.

Thanks all.  As soon as Ken heard Allium triccocum he realized that was it.  He got it when visiting a native plant nursery near Belleville, Ontario.
