Hello

Please can you help and identify this primula?

Many thanks
Luke

Not an easy question to answer Luke! Would you say that the flower colour shown on your picture is a true representation of it's actual colour, which is very nice? The leaf shape suggests to me that it could have some Primula marginata blood in it and you might have to settle for it being a Primula hybrid of which there are umpteen. There may be others on the Forum with other views too.

The leaves look like Auricula leaves to my untrained eye.

You could well be right Eric. Hope you are settling in nicely?

Thank you. I can’t even remember where it came from as was many years ago. Like you say it could have been a hybrid that was just given a name.

You can never really tell from a photo but it looks a bit like 'Samuel' ??

Hi Luke

It's tough when you don't know the name or lose a label. There are so many, but if I had to guess from the leaf and flower I would say it could be one of the pubescens types, possibly P. x 'Blue Wave'.

All the best

Dave
