Title: Can you identify this bug please?
Post by: Maren on August 03, 2018, 10:39:51 AM: Hi, found this in my bathroom and not sure whether to find it a new home or despatch it. Can you help?
The body of the bug is about 12 mm long from snout to before the raised tail/abdomen.

This is a female of Punktierte Zartschrecke https://www.deutschlands-natur.de/tierarten/heuschrecken/punktierte-zartschrecke/ (https://www.deutschlands-natur.de/tierarten/heuschrecken/punktierte-zartschrecke/) with its caracteristic ovipositor and the quasi-absence of wing. It's usually a tree grasshopper.

We have her both animals in our garden
Sorry to say ..yes they eat sometimes leaves :o
