Title: Can you identify this bug please?
Post by: Maren on August 03, 2018, 10:39:51 AM
Hi, found this in my bathroom and not sure whether to find it a new home or despatch it. Can you help?
The body of the bug is about 12 mm long from snout to before the raised tail/abdomen.

Hans, this one is smaller than das Grüne Heupferd. This is a female of Punktierte Zartschrecke https://www.deutschlands-natur.de/tierarten/heuschrecken/punktierte-zartschrecke/ (https://www.deutschlands-natur.de/tierarten/heuschrecken/punktierte-zartschrecke/) with its caracteristic ovipositor and the quasi-absence of wing. It's usually a tree grasshopper.
The english ame is Speckled bush-cricket https://www.naturespot.org.uk/species/speckled-bush-cricket (https://www.naturespot.org.uk/species/speckled-bush-cricket)

Well, thanks all, it didn't look well and I gave it an easy exit. I don't want to introduce anything to my environment that I later have to look for with an insecticide.
