Title: Zürich Botanical Garden April 2008
Post by: Lvandelft on April 14, 2008, 09:02:27 PM
Last week when we were for a short break in Switzerland we visited the Botanical Garden at Zürich.
The weather was not so good but it was dry though cold, about 3 C.
Therefore some pictures are not so good, but I think I show them here because many of you will not be able to visit this garden.

In the first batch I show the entrance with tulips followed after a colourful spring meadow.

Then the screegarden with some plants growing there.

There are three glasshouses. One of them for tropical plants and
two are for subtropical and mediterranean climates.
In the first were not many flowers at the moment and it was so hot that we rushed out into the other houses.

Hi @ all !

If anybody comes to Zurüch so you have to go to the "Staedtische Succulenten Sammlung "

http://www.stadt-zuerich.ch/internet/gsz/home/naturraeume/sukkulentensammlung.html

This is one of the best collections of Europe - with a lot of interesting material ....there are many of plants in herbar - as insurence for war and anything .

Best wishes
Hans
