This is a low growing plat, grows in shade and spreads slowly, any ideas as to the ID ?
-
It looks a bit like Euphorbia amygdaloides although as I don't grow this plant myself I'm not very sure. Does it flower? Is the sap white (don't touch it)?
-
I was thinking that too, Alan, especially as it seems to be evergreen in a southern hemisphere winter.

It has not flowered in 5 years, although it is in shade. The foliage is glossy. I will try to get a photo of a stem cutting to see if it white and sappy like euphorbias.

Daphne laureola could be an other idea to explore.

I understand that the common name for Euphorbia amygdaloides is ''Wood Spurge whilst Daphne laureola is known as 'Spurge Laurel'. So we certainly have a spurge theme here.

If the leaves had irregular edges and more prominent veins, I'd think Pachysandra (which has the common name Japanese spurge)--'Green Sheen'...
