Got this plant from a friend and would be grateful for
an identification.

It reminds me of Feverfew, Tanacetum parthenium, although it doesn't look exactly right to be that. But Tanacetum parthenium has many different cultivars (the semi-double form endemic to my garden comes true from seed). Or could it be another Tanacetum species?

Alan, many thanks for the quick identfication.

It's a very tentative identification, Rudi. I was hoping somebody more knowledgeable would chip in with a better answer.

I too see the resemblance to Feverfew - but the flower form and inflorescence shape is odd - I wonder if if might be a hybrid plant, not necessarily of Tanacetum, but a similar daisy as parent??
