Title: Cistaceae? Which One?
Post by: t5247rb on June 17, 2018, 11:33:16 AM
Found this yesterday in the Paris region (Parc Haute Vallée de Chevreuse) in a sandy area.

I'm guessing it's a Rock Rose but I don't think I've ever seen this variety before.

Looking for some help.

Thank you.

Could it be Cistus salviifolius? It seems this is a Mediterranean species.  The pictures I've seen look very similar. Does it also grow this far North?  Or did someone plant it?

I am quite sure that it is Cistus salviifolia.

it should have been planted because it doesn't grow naturally around Paris. Have a look on its distribution in France here : http://siflore.fcbn.fr/?cd_ref=91715&r=metro (http://siflore.fcbn.fr/?cd_ref=91715&r=metro)
