Sad news today, Christophe Maerten gardener at the Brussel botanical garden died in the Vercors on monday 4th June.

I've climbed this peak 3 times, i'll never look this mountain with the same eyes next time.
We sometimes forget elementary moutain's rules when hunting plants, this story should remain to all of us that weather is the first constraint of any high altitude walk.
He was only 39's, RIP

A very sad story of the death of this young man. Indeed, we should all remember the power of nature and respect her in all respects. A dreadful loss to his wife, family and friends.

I think this unfortunate young man is named Cristophe Maerten rather than Maertem, as stated in the article linked above.

Not your mistake, really, Yann - the article you linked to has it as Maertem.
A tragic story by whatever name.
