Title: Anyone explain this?
Post by: Palustris on May 18, 2018, 01:45:03 PM
We have only ever grown Antirrhinum molle, A. sempervirens and A. braun-blankettii, none of which are anywhere near this colour, so can anyone explain where this has come from.

Oddly enough,  we had a similar  Snap-dragon which appeared in the same way as yours -  it came back for quite a few years and I grew fond of it for its will to live, in spite of being "odd" for the rest of its  companions in the garden. I supposed tht there were  "border" anthirrhinums being grown nearby and a bumble bee had  worked its magic with  A. sempervirens or molle.

A bee would have to fly a very long way to reach us from any garden where annual snapdragons may have been grown, Certainly none of our neighbours grow them.
