Title: Arum pictum?
Post by: Mark Griffiths on January 11, 2018, 02:38:09 PM
hi, I wanted to be sure this is actually A. pictum and not one of the A. italicum forms. I got it from AGS seed - the leaves start up in autumn. The pot is 10cm (4 inches). This is now their second year of leaves.

I'm currently clearing out the misnamed cyclamen seedlings and thought this is another candidate for checking.

Looks like good Arum pictum to me, I find that Arum italicum tends to have slightly narrower/ hastate leaves...

True A. pictum flowers before or as the leaves emerge. Imposters flower later!

oh, they are beautiful, you had 6 seedlings!

at home on 5-6 seeds (sown early 2017), I had only one.
will it already produce some new leaves this winter?
and do you think that bryophytes are troublesome for it?
