I'll do a shameless self-promotion - we've started the seed sale, with 25-50% off everything as usual.

I wish we could, but our seed bags are no longer up to the standard required ("commercial packaging"), even with a cover letter included. We tried a couple of orders this winter, but they weren't accepted.

Hi Bjornar,
unfortunately as the saying goes "You pay peanuts you get monkeys"  :'(
We hope we can get the authorities to review things but I think they are particularly wary of anything coming out of China because in recent years a lot of material has been sent without English names,
cheers

As Bobo  Olsen comments ....
The post offices reopened here on February 15, and we will try our best to have all orders shipped out before we start a 3 week vacation on February 25th.
As well as other seeds, Bobo reports that "There's plenty of Meconopsis species left, including some rather rare ones; M. wilsonii ssp. australis, venusta and balangensis."

Here are some of  his photos of those plants ....

Bobo Olsen comments  today :

ChineseAlpines.com

"There are apparently some issues shipping out of China at the moment, so I'm afraid quite a lot of envelopes sent from us on March 22nd will get new tracking numbers. This only affects customers in Europe, and for some odd reason not orders sent to the UK. We're very sorry for the delay, and will email the people affected as soon as we receive the new tracking numbers!

We're not sure exactly what the issue is, and neither is our agent, the reason given to him was "smuggling of illegal goods" (likely drugs) - apparently everything in the pallet bag is returned if a single package is found to contain anything banned."

Thank you, Maggi, for reposting it here! It seems these issues always show up at the worst possible time (I'm on vacation with bad internet), but I'm happy to say the 12 orders that were returned have already been reshipped - and should be trackable (with new numbers) in a couple of days time. We will email those it concerns when the envelopes have gone through the Chinese Export Inspection.

Latest  news  from Bobo Olsen....
Just a brief note to mention that we've put the spring/summer seed list online, have a look:

ChineseAlpines.com - click here  for Summer Seed list (http://mail01.tinyletterapp.com/trillium/special-summer-seed-list-of-spring-ephemerals-now-online-chinesealpines-com/14536782-www.chinesealpines.com/index.php?c=f8b118af-9e80-4715-b547-d79ece165873)

"We've repeated our Helleborus thibetanus collections around Baoxing, and visited a couple of mountains around Chengdu, to get seeds of Eranthis albiflora as well as other Ranunculaceae. We've also cooperated with a collector in Hunan for the rare Urophysa henryi - possibly the very first introduction into cultivation - and have plenty of fresh Eranthis stellata straight from our collector at the North-Korean border on Changbaishan.

We might add more species to the list at a later date, so please check back again in a week or two - or follow us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/chinesealpines/ (https://www.facebook.com/chinesealpines/)

Thanks,
August and Bjørnar "
