Title: Polygonatum i.d.
Post by: johnw on May 12, 2017, 12:06:27 AM
Around 2000 we received a lovely Polygonatum from Jim Waddick.  It had been collected in China, gets about 12-15" tall and has prosepered in Ken's garden.  Just realized we don't have a proper name on it aside from Polygonatum sp. cw China (mandschuricum/involucratum).  Anyone able to identify it?

Had a response back from AaaronF & Jim Waddick and Aaron says:

"It is identical in sequence to Polygonatum humile from west of Beijing and Tony Avent's Run DMZ from South Korea. It behaves a little differently, but it fits in with P. humile quite well. The Japanese plants that are more abundant in cultivation are different, but I only had a single accession with documation of its origin."
