I got the seed from the 2014 seed exchange last year it was the purple and orange colour. This year there are some spikes that are pale yellow. Is the yellow one the same species or is it different species. Sorry about the quality taken on my phone on a windy day

I don't think either of those is linaria alpina, I think you have one which I have in my garden - the flowers can be quite varied in colour - purples, yellows, and some with purple/brown. The name escapes me at the moment, but I too got it from the seedex a few years ago as alpina. It's a pretty plant, seeds about but is very easy to pull out if it grows where you don't want it.

Cannot think of the name of those wee Toadflax like yours, Neil - I have a feeling they're a hybrid of some sort. Sweet little things that seed themselves around in various colours and- as Carolyn says, easily removed if they make a nuisance of themselves. Cheery little things that I like very much.

Looks rather like Linaria aeruginea which does come in different colours.
