Title: March flowering shrub in Sicily

It's that time of year again, and I need help!!!!  I found this flowering shrub growing on Vulcano and again near Cefallu in March. I'm stumped and a google image search isn't helping.  As always, much appreciative of your help.

Tamarix sp. (don't know which species grows in Sicily)

Perfect, Thank you.  I'm thinking now it is Tamarix africana.
