Narcissus rupicola subsp. marvieri.

Narcissus jonquilla var. henriquesii (or whatever the taxonomists are calling it today) is blooming in my greenhouse. I only wish it was possible to photograph the wonderful scent. I've been trying to pollinate the flowers with a cotton swab so maybe I'll get lucky and get some seed.

Let's try again on the picture. It wasn't rotates in Photos on my Mac.

I have rotated your photos for you, Jan. I refer you to this post :

Re: Viewing and Posting pictures on the Forum
There have been some problems for folks posting pictures from their i-pads or smart phones - these are appearing either sideways or upside down when loaded to the forum.
It 's a question of how the pix were first saved I think. Not sure, since I don't use an i-pad or camera phone, so I consulted Ian about this.
He says if the pix are flipped in the device or as you resize them ( to make them display the right way up as you see them) then they will rotate when posted here, back to the original orientation. If you don't flip them they'll be correct here in the first place.
-
From seed exchange, first year flowering.
I lost labels all of seedlings, so needed to identify.
Narcissus jonquilla subsp. cerrolazae..
Thanks so much Rafa Diez Dominquez for identifying.
-
Some small ones in my garden:
Narcissus 'Coo'
Narcissus 'Jim Lad'
Narcissus 'Minicycla'
Narcissus 'Mitimoto'
and Narcissus nanus
-
And Narcissus pseudonarcissus 'Putshills' (name corrected, thanks David!)
-
No mention of this one on DaffSeek Wim? Does it differ at all from the standard pseudonarcissus? You have spelt it as 'Putts' in your photo file and as 'Puts' in your post ??? ;D
-
Narcissus
eugeniae "clone no. 1" ‘Trumpet Voluntary’ from Anne :)

Thank you for making me remember its name, Maggi ;) I fixed my previous post.

Hmmm, the regular one has a paler yellow outer perianth, while in this one it is the same yellow as the corona. Typo for the name, it is 'Putts Hills'. Have to ask the person from whom I got it where it originated!
-
Must be unregistered, it's not on DaffSeek in any forms of the name.
-
This link is to the Youtube channel of Fernando Ureña Plaza- with some super videos of Narcissus

Harvest season has come :)
... and Narcissus bulbocodium var. pallidus, JJA 696.600. There are 2 seedlings in this pot.
-

Just asked the person who gave me this form and it is 'Putshills', named by Dean Croucher.
-
Mmmm, still doesn' show up on Daffseek.

Probably never registered!
-
It's all happening here. Narcissus 'Viridiflora Cultivar 4'. This one has a good strong scent.
-
Narcissus jonquilla var. henriquesii, (syn. Narcissus flavus), and Narcissus provincialis (syn. Narcissus pseudonarcissus subsp. minor).
-
Narcissus calicola, and Narcissus radinganorum (syn. Narcissus hispanicus).
-
Narcissus papyraceus, and Narcissus hispanicus (is it different to N. radinganorum in previous post?).
-
Narcissus 'St Keverne', and Narcissus perez-chiscanoi, another synonym of Narcissus hispanicus.
-
Thanks Maggie for fixing my pictures. The photos were taken with and iPhone so that appears to be the problem. i need to remember to turn the photos into jpegs before I post. That will likely fix the problem.

These are
Narcissus jacetanus from NE Spain and N. bulbocodium from Oukaimeden/Morocco

Here is
1) Narcissus bulbocodium.[attach=1]

The narcissus pseudonarcissus lobularis are in flower. I like to see them when they seem to turn all to the same place like trumpets at a concert.

Very nice, Fred. Here is Narcissus 'Viridiflora Cultivar 2', and another version of Narcissus provincialis (N. pseudonarcisssus subsp. minor).
-
viriflora grows outside?
-
Yes, Yann, in a sheltered spot. Narcissus papyraceus also grows well outdoors here.
-
Narcissus bujei, another synonym of Narcissus hispanicus.
-
i also tried papyraceus in the garden but they froze, bulbs are not damaged.
-
Narcissus 'Viridiflora Cultivar 1' in flower and on the second photo, Narcissus 'Viridiflora cultivar 2'
Comme ils semble bien se multiplier en pot, j'essaierai au jardin aussi une fois le moment du rempotage arrivé.

I'm sure Anne will have some this year...

I like all those small ones...too many to choose from!

These have been growing outside at the base of a south facing wall for some years now. They flower reliably and increase.
-
Narcissus rupicola and Narcissus rupicola subsp. watieri.

From seed labelled Narcissus Tockwith Anne (AGS 09/10-4123) and I really don't know what to call it now. I know Anne has renamed the plant but can't for the life of me remember what it is called now. Help!

Have a look here (http://www.srgc.net/forum/index.php?topic=6855.msg189658#msg189658), David
David - I just discussed this daffodil with another forumist. Tockwith Anne should be renamed 'Robin Metcalf' (it was he, not me, who raised it). It is not a registered name, so I feel I can change it willy nilly - I never liked the name, and I feel I'm much more of a trumpet than a hoop petticoat type, should I ever have a daff named in my honour. I will not change it again, so you can rewrite your label with confidence. It is a good 'doer'.
-
Cheers for that Maggi. I can't remember what I had for tea today never mind what I said in 2011. ;D
-
Here is an old monstrosity in first picture is Narcissus 'Rip van Winkel'
[attach=1]
In the second photo, Narcissus Pseudonarcissus, which comes from Gérardmer in France.
[attach=2]
In the third photo, it is a corolla defect which is spiral in Narcissus pseudonarcissus lobularis.

Narcissus hedraeanthus subsp. luteolentus

Narcissus hedraeanthus subsp. luteolentus
Interesting. This is a very variable plant in the wild, probably of hybrid origin and certainly involving N.hedraeanthus. All those I saw in the Sierra de Alcaraz were much paler in colour than yours and extremely variable in morphology of the flower (a selection presented in the latest issue of The Rock Garden and more in the IRG 85 (http://www.srgc.org.uk/logs/logdir/2017Jan261485471226IRG85.pdf).

Cheers, Matt! I got mine from Kurt Vickery (Not from Kurt, not too sure where I got them from then, maybe Lars & Kirsten Anderson) if I remember correctly....the flower's bigger than in my "regular" hedraeanthus and a lot more intensely coloured. It does flower on flower stalks that are just as low, though!
-
Narcissus ‘Andy Blanchard’
Almost 2 weeks later than the usual.
-
Here are some daffodils - the first ones from the garden, the others cultivated inside
1. A bicolored Pseudonarcissus from the Pyrenees
2. Narcissus confusus from the Sierra Morena
3. Narcissus cantabricus - from Brazatortas/Sierra Morena
4. Narcissus x matritensis (N. triandrus subsp. pallidulus x N. cantabricus)
5. Narcissus (rupicula) watierii from the High Atlas

-
Narcissus cyclamineus, from Galicia.
-
Narcissus seguriensis, JJA 706.250
-
Narcissus cantabricus var. petunioides
It hasn't bloomed this season :( Looks very healthy and number of leaves from each bulbs is normal (2-4 leaves) but no flowers! ??? ??? ???
-
You need to talk very seriously to it, Tatsuo!
Our recent trip to RHS Garden Rosemoor to exhibit in the Daffodil competition was a very daffy weekend. First the formality of the daffodil exhibition - cut flowers in vases, and an unprecedented number of miniatures exhibited. Four exhibitors vied for the nine single bloom class. Brian Duncan was victorious, but we gave him a fight.
Strangely, I cannot add pictures to the post... ???

Anne, the site is undergoing updates and attachments are disabled at the moment- also the forum will be offline altogether tomorrow for more work. We hope this will not be for too long.
There are notices to this effect in the General area of the forum and in the Notice Board section.

Don't worry Chuck, you won't be the only one! I know some folks come straight to their favourite threads and will miss these notices, but it is quite impossible to add them to all the active threads!
I do not doubt that my inbox tomorrow will fill with -" the forum is down do you know " emails!

Narcissus x ubriquense and Narcissus assoanus.

Wild Narcissus pseudonarcissus in a wood near Rosemoor:
-
Two new daffs to be registered:
Little Jen (my daughter finally thinks one is good enough to bear her name). It is a triandrus x rupicola, strictly speaking a x rupidulus, although with the cross being what it is, I would call it a x tripicola!
[attach=1]
[attach=2]
Fat Rascal, an obesus x triandrus cross with sometimes two flowers to the stem. Admired at the East Lancs show last weekend.

Very nice, Anne.

Yes, Anne. They're pretty both.
