Hi all,
can anyone tell me if Cypella Coelestis and Herbertia Platensis are the same plant. Thanks in advance.
Cheers, John.

Hi John
They look very similar!

Interestingly ThePlantList says Herbertia platensis is a synonym of Herbertia lahue!!!
And Cypella coelestis is a synonym of Phalocallis coelestis,
cheers

Several sources report these species as synonym : http://www.arthurleej.com/p-o-m-July16.html (http://www.arthurleej.com/p-o-m-July16.html) https://conservancy.umn.edu/bitstream/handle/11299/143447/Cypella%20coelestis%20Paper%20Ian%20Kirkegaard.pdf?sequence=2 (https://conservancy.umn.edu/bitstream/handle/11299/143447/Cypella%20coelestis%20Paper%20Ian%20Kirkegaard.pdf?sequence=2) ... as suggested by pictures posted by fermi.
Interestingly ThePlantList says Herbertia platensis is a synonym of Herbertia lahue!!!
Again, ThePlantList is useful for a quick search but don't trust it !

Sorry, speaking about different name, maybe I was not clear enough : Cypella coelestis and Herbertia platensis are indeed synonym that why they look so identical ::)
