Title: Tanacetum leontopodium / Pyrethrum leontopodium
Post by: Leucogenes on September 17, 2016, 01:46:43 PM
Hello,
I have just received eleven seedlings of Tanacetum leontopodium (Pyrethrum l.). I really want to establish in Alpinium. With a cover of glass. Should I plant them later this year, or better put by next spring the cold frame?

Thanks for your help.

Thomas

Thomas, In my experience Pyrethrum leontopodium does not survive for a longer time in the open
garden without overhead protection in the winter. I lost it several times, a place in the alpine house
is better for this alpine gem.
Planting next spring is surely safer.
