Always enjoy these news and photos from over the ocean Maggi. Cannot help to add more on Berkheya purpurea - caught it in flower last year in SRGC forumist Robert Pavlis garden and I was spellbound!
My seedlings started in early spring are already planted in the ground; one more mention, we are both gardening in zone 5 - Canada.

Good to know that your "year of the thistle" is going well, Gabriela!

Thank you Maggi :) I developed a slight obsession with Jurinea spp. - hope to have some flowering next year.

I shall be forgiven but can't abstain (you can move the picture elsewhere Maggi) - Berkheya in all its glory, last year in August; I like it a lot actually after it flowers.

A sign of a quality plant, I think, when it gives interest at more than one stage of its growth.
