Beautiful Hans...I don't think I've ever seen it before--and I KNOW I haven't heard of the name. Isn't it amazing after all these years of growing things that there are still new wonders out there?

Hans, I tried more times to sow seeds imported from Brasil, but every time they rotted.  :(  Did you used a special solution to clean them and sow them?

I made always such fleshy seeds in a solution of 1% H2O2 for one hour ,
later I sow such seeds on a mix of scoria and sphagum moss
the pot with the sowing substrat I water with boiling water ....
iwhenthe substrat is cool I sow the seeds and after this I put the pot it in a plastic bag and close it until the seeds germinate ....

In this year I try a new way :
I sow my seeds in a mix of sharp sand and vermiculite - this mix I made in a bottling jar -than I sterilize it in our oven with 150 ° ( 30 minutes ) -after cooling I sow the seeds ( watering before with a fungicid ) and than I close it the glass ....

Eithea blumenavia is an understory plant, growing in subtropical forests in southern Brazil, near the coast.
