The Stirling Group has recently enjoyed a very successful visit to Gargunnock House - where they were shown round by the man in charge - Willie Campbell, SRGC stalwart and Rhododendron enthusiast - Willie is to be one of the Speakers at the SRGC Summer Event, of course - read Sandy Leven's report on the Group visit HERE (http://files.srgc.net/localgroups/StirlingGroupatGargunnockHouse.pdf)

When I clicked on to your reference for the Gargunnock house visit, this is what I got.. Every picture had a coloured box somewhere in it.
-
Sorry to hear that Tom - it's okay here and when I download it from the site it is fine too. Sandy does use a lot of text boxes etc in his pdfs - have you got the latest Adobe Reader installed? That may make a difference.
-
Same problem in mine Maggi and my Adobe Reader is upto date
-
I just tried the link and got the same as you guys, just scrambled text. Closing the window and clicking on the link a second time it has worked and the text is there and readable. Perhaps try again?
-
Tried it there and it worked this time. I use Foxit pdf reader. When I tried the link originally I could not get anything. All I had was the cursor arrow on the word HERE. I fiddled about and then tried again. The word HERE had now been underlined I clicked on and it took me to the site but the pictures filled with blank boxes as per my last post.
Whatever it was seems to have sorted itself.
Spoke too soon !! I tried it again and it is back to the empty boxes !

It is a large file - over 10MB, if I remember correctly - so if there is any hiccup in downloading it that might be corrupting it. Once you have downloaded it successfully to your machine it should open correctly every time.
Sorry folks, not a lot I can do about individual probs in opening files. :-X

Not one for the rock garden, but this plant was brought along to Dunblane for ID. It is Pelargonium 'Urchin', a miniature stellar with distinctive leaves derived from P. 'Formosanum' (http://www.geraniumsonline.com/andersson1.htm). They're sometimes referred to as 'finger flower' because the leaves are hand-shaped. Bonny wee plants for a windowsill.
-
Once again a mystery Tropaeolum appeared on the bench, no label and many folk asking what it is. I remembered it from last year but couldn't place the name. I think we settled on T. smithii (http://www.srgc.net/forum/index.php?topic=13487.msg339574#msg339574)

- makes me even sorrier to have missed it!
Very nice to see mention made of the late Viv Chambers, too.
