Title: Daphne pontica
Post by: Zdenek on February 29, 2008, 07:50:45 PM
I only several days ago read the January issue of the Rock Garden and the article about the First Czech International Rock Garden Conference. On the page 25 there is a picture of a Daphne from my garden labelled Daphne caucasica. I am sorry but I grow it as D. pontica and I am quite sure that it is the correct name. It is similar to D. laureola from Pyrenees which however has smaller flowers. Daphne pontica grows in my garden for 25 years. In very strong frost it use to be a little damaged but after some prunning in spring it very soon recovers.
