Title: South African bulb
Post by: Diane Whitehead on May 31, 2016, 11:14:03 PM
This has appeared in the walkway between two raised beds of mostly South African bulbs.

It is 70 cm high, and has no leaves connected to the stem, though there are some fans of
leaves nearby which may belong to it.

Thanks, Fermi.

That looks like a good I.D.

I've never bought seeds of a drimia, but back in 2006 I picked a few seeds from
an ornithogalum-like plant near Clanwilliam. After ten years, I can't remember
clearly what the flower looked like. The seeds never germinated that I noticed,
so I emptied the pot into my "no-show" area, near where this plant has appeared.
