Bob Worsley is the Show Secretary, so he'll know - if he dosen't spot this then....Bob.Worsley@agsgroups.org :)
thanks Maggi - its going to be a flying visit on Sunday as its given a decent day and I have a lot of fencing to complete :(
-
I've already e-mailed Bob for a list....watch this space!
-
Will you have another stunning six pan Lewisia for the show, Martin? Your six at the Rocky Flower Shows was a cracker .
-
Alas no, there isn't a large 6 and can't have 6 of one genus in a small 6 :'( ....anyway I don't think I could put another together. A few Lewisias will, however, make there way to the show :)
-
I didn't remember the difference for "small" sixes - mind you, none of your plants are small enough anyway, are they? ::)
-
Thanks Maggi, but 6 small I could do!
Mind you, one judge, who shall remain nameless, apparently commented that he wanted advance notice next time so he could bring his sunglasses :o
So perhaps I shouldn't do it too often in case I induce cases of Lewisia blindness ;D
-
Stuff the judges- I bet the public love 'em! Yes, they're bright - but they are cheerful! Gimme a blisteringly bright Lewisia over a puce Dionysia any day! ;D ;D
-
Stuff the judges-
Can't do that...I was one...had to make myself scarce when they judged it.
I aim to produce the brightest, boldest, most dazzling Lewisias, true spirit lifters ;D

Just back from helping set up the show. Judging by the number of entries the benches are going to be groaning with class plants. And the weather forecast is good. Make the effort and come and see it, and enjoy a nice day out in Bakewell.

Going to be very early and off - got a date with a fence and a nail gun.........

Many thanks to Bob and Brenda Worsley and their fabulous team of helpers for making Bakewell AGS Show such an enjoyable and successful event. The benches were overflowing with splendid and colourful exhibits and the plant sales areas were busy all day. Hearty congratulations to prominent and established exhibitors, Rod and Shirley Johnson from Bollington on scooping their first Farrer Medal with their beautiful pan of Rhododendron lowndesii.
-
Exhibited by Geoff Rollinson and probably appearing for the first time on any show bench anywhere in the world this beautiful little cushion plant caused excitement and mirth in equal measure.
-
A magnificent and aged Lewisia rediviva exhibited by Alan Furness
Beautiful saxes.
One of Lionel Clarkson's superb exhibits.
Full benches everywhere.
-
Lawrence Peet's award winning exhibit.
-
Great pictures, Cliff. The Lewisia rediviva is superb and nothing shabby about the edraianthus either.

Brian and I would like to offer a public thank you to Victoria and Brenda Newton for their wonderful help on Saturday. They carried IN and OUT far more of our plants than we did. It was very much appreciated. We would have been there still without them :-*
