Can't for the life of me remember this name and the label has gone awol.
-
Looks like Anemone narcissiflora to me Shelagh.
-
I'll take your word for it Graham, trouble is we haven't sown any of that. Hmmmmm
-
Leaf that is just visible at the bottom looks too fine to be Anemone narcissiflora but definitely an Anemone.
Sown any at all?
AGS and SRGC (sorry) seed exchange Anemone have been a lucky dip over the past couple of years.
-
Anemone magellanica or multifida?
-
Most misnamed Anemone seed from seed exchanges is actually A multifida

Quite so, Diane. Anemone multifida looks likely here too, I think.

Yes I think that must be the answer although the clump I found in the garden from Anemone seed 2 years ago looks slightly more buff than yellow. Anyhow mystery solved thanks to you all.

slightly more buff than yellow.
Anemone multifida comes in lots of colours from white to yellow and pink, I suspect that's part of the reason it gets confused for all sorts of other things in seed donations, including quite frequently Pulsatilla, which of course has very different seed.
