Rare opportunity to visit Frogmore House and Gardens - 8 June 2016
Dear Scottish Rock Garden Club
On Wednesday 8 June 2016, Frogmore House and Gardens will be open to the public by gracious permission of Her Majesty the Queen in aid of Blind Veterans UK.
We would be delighted if you can help us promote the event to members of your group by circulating this email and promoting it on your website or in a newsletter.
This is a rare opportunity for garden lovers, day trippers and those interested in royal history to visit this famous beautiful garden and lake set in the grounds of Windsor Castle's private Home Park.

Blind Veterans UK, formerly St Dunstan’s, believes no one who has served our country should have to battle blindness alone. We provide blind and vision-impaired ex-Service men and women with access to the finest quality services to help them discover life beyond sight loss. This includes the provision of lifelong welfare support, rehabilitation, training, residential and respite care.

Spring at Whalton Manor, Northumberland

(The gardens can be enjoyed by individuals or groups of up to 50 people and entry to the gardens start from £7.00 per person.
Tours must be booked in advance. Free admission will be granted to coach drivers and tour operators.)

Much of the designed landscape we see today at Gargunnock has been created by successive generations of keen gardeners, the Campbell family in the 18th century, the Stirling’s in the 19th and 20th and now Willie Campbell in the 21st century
Gargunnock House faces due south with majestic views of the parkland or policies as they are known in Scotland. There are wonderfully exotic trees all around, coloured with every shade of green in the spring, glorious red tints in the autumn and with the Gargunnock Hills in the background.

The trees in Windsor great park should be worth seeing as well. In the Scottish Borders the Rhododendrons and Azaleas in Dundock wood Coldstream,will be coming into flower soon, free admission.
