Anyone know of or have a photo of H. n. s. 'Amy Doncaster'?
-
Never heard of it, Mark - though there are plenty plants named after that lady..... umpteen pix of the snowdrop in the forum, for instance! If anyone knows it will be bulborum (Roland) I would think.
-
I send Mark a link to a picture from Amy Doncaster a few weeks ago
Here I found in a valley the first real bluebell of the year in flower
Hyacinthoides non-scripta near Honfleur , Normandy , France
Looks like spring begins

Though bluebells flower here 2 weeks earlier than 30 years ago, we never saw them in flower as early as March!
The region where we live (Mönchengladbach) is one of the very few in Germany where bluebells grow wild. To my delight, they show some variation, too.
-
This scenery was one of my favourites last year.
-
Some nice variation Mariette
Love the hairy ones
I found just 2 till now
Most hairy ones in the trade are hybrids

In one of our woods we find some each year, but they´re not always stable.
A good white one is occasionally for sale; in our wood grow only blueflowered bracteate ones.
-
Seems the bracteate ones in your forest set seed
