Hi,
Could someone with more experience than myself possibly please advise me on the following point?
I am using a small Wilko greenhouse about the size and shape of a wardrobe to try to grow some plants from the seed exchange. What I would like to know is when do I start leaving the door permanently open? At the moment condensation readily builds up on the inside of the plastic if I put a couple of freshly watered 52 cm gravel trays of 7cm pots in it but a day with the door open will clear this. There is shade netting on the inside and the seeds are sown in mixtures containing compost mostly with either some added sphagnum moss or some vermiculite. More than half of the seeds are Meconopsis with the rest mostly Primula, Gentiana and a minority of other species.
Thanking you in advance.
Kind regards,
Nick

I'm no expert but given the species you are trying to grow I would have thought they would come to no harm at all to sow them and then leave them uncovered, outside. I think under any form of cover the conditions will always be to humid.

Thank you for your helpful reply.

I would agree but have to admit that, apart from M. baileyi, M. balangensis and M. 'Lingholm', my germination this year has been disappointing so far. Just the last couple of days I have started to have the odd seedlings of other species appearing so maybe more humidity would have helped ?

May be worth reading Ian Christie's Nursery Workshop articles on the main site : for instance :
