Perhaps as it is the day that Roger Harvey normally has his sale he will have it a week earlier to avoid the clash?
I did not know what Boller carts ("Bollerwägelchen") were but found a picture here: http://german.alibaba.com/product-gs/boller-wagen-garden-cart-823639095.html (http://german.alibaba.com/product-gs/boller-wagen-garden-cart-823639095.html) - essentially a crate on wheels. You could get a lot of snowdrops in one of those.Patented by Boadicea I believe.

The SRGC Snowdrop Day 2017
We have set the date of Sunday 26th February 2017 for our club’s
Snowdrop Day. Thirty members (only) are invited to meet at
Westmuir hall at 10 o’clock in the morning for a programme
that will include a presentation by Matt Bishop, a visit to Brechin Castle
to see special snowdrops, lunch at the Castle’s garden centre (under
£10, or bring your own lunch). We will then travel on to Maulsden to
view the special colony of Galanthus plicatus and take a walk around a
million or more Galanthus nivalis. The cost per member is around £15
and we will provide coffee and tea at the hall. For any further details
please contact ianchristie@btconnect.com

Those within reach of Thenford in Northamptonshire, on 17th February 2017 will be interested in this event, I think -

Oirlicher Snowdrop Days 2017
February 18 and February 19, 2017
daily 10:00 to 17:00
I've just got the 2017 programme for the Mid-Anglia Group of the Alpine Garden Society. The talk scheduled for Sunday 12th February is
" Eddie Roberts "Paintings of Snowdrops (and the influence of the exquisite and perplexing paintings of Jan Breugel the elder)"
Eddie poses these questions:-- "Did Breughel paint Galanthus plicatus in Belgium c1600? How did Holland's most famous flower painter tackle snowdrops? Why are snowdrops missing from Rosetti's portrait of Janie Morris? How do the Glasgow Boys tackle white flowers?"
Meetings are held in Birdbrook, Essex and I thought that anybody nearby with an interest in snowdrops in art might wish to attend. I'm not sure about the protocol for guest entry but if anyone is interested send me a PM and I will find out.
The National Gardens Scheme have published a complete list of gardens open for snowdrops in 2017 which is here: http://www.ngs.org.uk/gardens/snowdrop-gardens-2017.aspx#resultsbookmark (http://www.ngs.org.uk/gardens/snowdrop-gardens-2017.aspx#resultsbookmark)
Only two listed in Devon and none at all in Cornwall.
Only two listed in Devon and none at all in Cornwall.
I've never been to Raveningham Hall, Brain. Would you recommend it? It looks to be quite close to Beccles where John Foster opens his garden on 12th February.
The Dutch Sneeuwklokjesgala will be held on 5th February 2017 - though the website is not yet up-dated - http://www.sneeuwklokjesgala.nl/ (http://www.sneeuwklokjesgala.nl/)adding the info in Dutch....
Matt Bishop will be the speaker at the event -
he will give 2 brand new lectures on the day at about 11.00 and 14.00. Besides that he will take some of his own snowdrops for sale.
It seems Gerard Oud plans to auction some of his own registered yellow finds, open to all, closing the week after the Gala, according to his Facebook comments.
For info: Gerard Old, Tel .: 0228 - 591 300 Mobile: 06-23359738, Email: gerardoud@tele2.nl
Gerard's 'drops will be G. nivalis 'Gold Fever' and G. nivalis 'Springs Gold'
edit to add "G.nivalis Gold Fever will be auctioned in 2017 - The other G nivalis Springs Gold, will be auctioned 2018 because it needs to be registrated officialy first. And 25% of the highest bid will go to the foundation that fights against ALS!" ( ALS is Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis )
....Sounds like two different ones to me.Matt Bishop assures me it is the same talk given at two different times. Sometimes the nuances of meaning get lost in translation.
Blacksmiths Cottage Nursery, 2017 Snowdrop Day is scheduled for 29th January 2017.
This is the day after Myddelton!
Rare species and cultivars on display and for sale from Harveys Garden Plants and other renowned collectors; Glen Chantry, Richard Bashford, John Foster, Michael Broadhurst […]
Michael Baron's book on the garden at Brandy Mount is now set to be launched at the AGS Snowdrop Day on 4th February
I think it's a pity that Gail Harland has not (AFAIK) found the opportunity to do something similar with her book. I suspect many galanthophiles would enjoy reading this book but (unless they pay close attention to this forum) remain unaware of it.It did seem unfair that we hadn't mentioned Gail's book again now the snowdrop season has started, Alan, so I've done just that in the January thread!
Any one have details of opening times at Harveys this weekend.............Thanks
I think Tim was meaning that it would be Kath Dryden Early....... or some such other name......and went on to detail the shows this weekend at which it is being sold - so there seems some urgency in avoiding confusing those buying in good faith.
Plus this ..... the garden of a new member.... http://www.ngs.org.uk/gardens/find-a-garden/Garden.aspx?id=22086 (http://www.ngs.org.uk/gardens/find-a-garden/Garden.aspx?id=22086)

The Mid-Anglia AGS Bulb Sale in 2017 is on Saturday 19th August at:
Fullers Mill Garden
West Stow
Bury St. Edmunds
Suffolk
IP28 6HD
I only discovered Fullers Mill Garden earlier this year, although it is less than an hour's drive from home. It's a lovely garden with lots of unusual plants in a beautiful riverside setting. And it's open to the public three days a week: http://www.fullersmillgarden.org.uk/ (http://www.fullersmillgarden.org.uk/) . I presume the sale is on a Saturday, rather than the usual Sunday, because the venue is open to the public on Sundays.
There is always a good selection of snowdrop bulbs on sale at this event, although lots of other bulbs also.
Date not fixed yet for next year, I don't think, but the first New Zealand Snowdrop Day has just been held at Prue Harper's place and has gone very well. It was well attended and lots of folks - many known to us in SRGC - had a grand time.2017 Day is, I believe, this coming Sunday, 12th August - preparations made at Ashburton!
One of the speakers was Denis Hughes of Emerald Hughes fame.
Wishing the NZers all the best for another successful event in 2017 !
