Dear forumists!
I am planning a trip to the provence in the last week of february, mainly to see some early spring flowers and enjoy the beautiful scenery (have only seen pictures). Can anybody please recommend a nice area? Is it too early to see Iris lutescens? Tulips, Anemones and Narcissi would be some of the other things to make me very happy :) But even if its too early for all those I'm sure it's still worth a visit! The weather forecast looks very nice, with temperatures from 13 to 19 degrees and no rain. I was thinking of visiting the plaine des maures.
Any thoughts or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Regards
Vincent

You can already found Barlia and some Ophrys delforgei, forestrei, fuscoïdes in flowers in the mountains above Marseilles, Sainte Croix, Martigues. Iris are already in flowers.
In the Gard you'll find Iris, Gagea, Crocus versicolor, may be Narcisus dubius but i think it's too early.
I've checked a tulips spot in the Var but nothing yet to see.

Thank you very much for the infos Yann! Glad to hear that these ones are already in flower. I would be more than happy with seeing just orchids, I just kinda forgot about those :)

Vincent:
There's a great bulb grower here:

He was more active on the PBS forum a while back but I haven't seen any posts from him in years.
Not sure if the geography works for your trip.
