A few pictures from the show.
Mostly I didn't make a note of who entered the plants, but the Pterostylis was Barry Tattersall.

How lovely - that really looks like Spring doesn't it?
Was the weather okay for travel to and from ?
I'll nip in and add the files names to your posts, Rob, to let the search engine find them. 8)

The Dionysia are wonderful, such a shame they'd not grow here. Cyclamen coum album looks good too and the Galanthus 'Sophie North' is my favourite. Thanks for the sneaky peek via your photo's, Rob.

Ian and Roma Smith were at Caerleon today and have given me permission to share these photos....
I'll start with Don Peace's really lovey Galanthus 'Sophie North' which won the Galanthus Goblet Award, the Farrer Medal and helped Don win the trophy for the most points in the Open Section ! 8)

Despite what appeared on the benches, it was definitely not a spring day; 4-5C and rain most of the day. After a desperate winter (or lack thereof) there were real fears that the show would be a pale imitation of its usual self but the exhibitors put in a real effort and in the end the day was saved. This was largely due to bulbs and Cyclamen, dicotyledons being thin on the ground. We usually take 20+ Dionysias but were only able to muster four this year and to be honest I wouldn't have even taken these in a 'normal' year but winter losses have been massive and those that survive have flowered/are flowering sparsely. Well done to Don Peace who won the Farrer Medal with Galanthus 'Sophie North' and the Isca Prize for the aggregate.

I have now added my photos of the show to the AGS discussion forum here: http://www.alpinegardensociety.net/discussion/atshows/South+Wales+Show+/20064/ (http://www.alpinegardensociety.net/discussion/atshows/South+Wales+Show+/20064/).
This is Iris svetlanae exhibited by Ivor Betteridge.
