Title: Andrew Thorp's Latest List
Post by: Blonde Ingrid on January 07, 2016, 10:50:53 AM
Here is Andrew Thorp's latest list. There has been some problems accessing it, so I have published it here!

Thanks for posting this, Ingrid.  Andrew Thorpe used to have a web site with his sales list on it but that seems to have been discontinued.  I was interested to see that 'Green Light' (a snowdrop I originated) is on the future sales list.  Hitherto it has been sold exclusively by Joe Sharman but it seems to be becoming a 'mainstream' snowdrop now.

agree John - some I got from Andrew are nearer a clump than a bulb!  Will definitely order more

Parcel just arrived from Andrew & Anita Thorpe (Andrew's Snowdrops)!

It included Emerald Isle which I decided to get following frequent recommendations from the Irish Galanthus Marketing Board AKA Paddy Tobin :)

Excellent bulbs, beautifully packed!

Hi ingrid has Andrew had a list out that I somehow missed?

The list came out in January both for drops that Andrew had available then and for drops available now! If you look above you will see both lists I posted at the time. They are very high quality drops and some packets had multiple bulbs!

Hi ingrid I ordered from these lists of Andrew's earlier in the year, I didn't think that you could still do so.

I ordered from both lists in January. The June list drops arrived today, if you ordered from the June list you are in for a lovely surprise  ;D

I spotted quite a few errors and inaccuracies in the lists.  For example, I do not believe that 'Angelique' is a sport of 'Anglesey Abbey', as stated.  However, I have had good-quality plants from the Thorps in the past so I would not let such mistakes put you off.

Yes, 'Angelique' was found far from Anglesey Abbey - near Rouen in fact, by Marc Brown.  Still if you were to let Andy and Anita know I am sure they would be happy to correct any mistakes for future editions.  I expect it is a nightmare sending the list out to everyone.
