Title: Across the eastern Alps
Post by: Maggi Young on December 31, 2015, 12:00:54 PM

"Across the eastern Alps"  is the title of a thread in the forum of our sister  club, the VRV,  by Frankie Wulleman on his travels in July 2015.

As Frankie says, this was a family holiday and not simply a plant holiday , so there is a wonderful diversity of pictures  across a wide area of  the Alps and some  quite stunning  plants which are  worth seeing and enjoying.
The thread is a long one - plenty to enjoy - and the VRV forum offers a chance to display the text in various languages .......

I recommend this to you!

I think Frankie will not mind if I show you just one photo from the thread.....

Thank you, Maggie for the kind reply.
I don't mind at all, that you use an image. It's even an honor for me.  :)

It's a great "tour" of the area and the translation allows those of us who don't have the language to still enjoy it. Although it does make me wonder how "Tja, toen was de pret er toch wel eventjes van af, als we gezeten in onze onderbroek naar onze verblijfplaats reden met de auto." becomes "Well, when the fun was surely a moment off, as we sat in our underpants to our resident drove by car."
The pics are great and I'm surprised Cliff hasn't been here drooling over the buttercups!
Only up to page 6 - only 13 to go!
cheers

Hello Fermi,

On the Ankogel, we had a heavy rainshower. So, we were totally wet. When we get down, we had to return with our (new) car to our guesthouse. So, we had to pull out our wet clothes. It was a funny sight,  :D

What is dangerous, Maggi? Every day, I go to my work with the car in heavy traffic with many crazy drivers...that's dangerous! Activities in the mountains can be dangerous, if you not know what you are doing. And also... a little bit danger makes life exciting.  ;)

Wow. Just wow. Completely stunning photos, and puts my poor efforts into context! What a fabulous holiday.

If you haven't see the thread, the photo Maggi posted is by no means the best...
