Hi
thought you may like to see some pictures of the Otago Alpine show, which was the first major show we have had and it turned out fantastic. So hope you enjoy.

This Gentian won the Premiere Award and was grown and shown by Peter and Louise Salmond who grow fantastic plants. they entered about 65 plants and won many award

Great to see these Mel - thanks for posting.  I've rotated some that were being turned sideways - this  has something to do with how they're saved in the first place, I think - and just sometimes happens!

Great picture of the gentian that won the premiere award. Do you have any more details about it?

  Super plant isn't it, Bob?  I think it is Gentiana clusii alba (?)- I  suspect it was shown by Peter and  Louise Salmond of Hokonui Alpines

It was indeed from Louise and peter, as were many of the Firsts. ;D though the name was a little different, G. c. 'Albiflora' maybe or something similar. The overall effect was pinkish lavender. Thanks for putting these up Mel. I have some more but have moved on since then, with NZIS Convention in Dunedin starting on Friday week.P
