Hello Ann and had a slight detour on our way home from Harlow ended up at Ashwood Nurseries...........
I assume you meant Harrogate Ian. Still an odd way to get back to Scotland though ??? ;D
-
Hello Dave yes from Harrogate to Ashwood a long drive but worth all the traffic and the noise had a super time arrived home here around 7 pm last night, cheers Ian the Christie kind (had a box full of plants)
-
Beautiful garden. What is the shrub in the blue pot, Ian? Looks like a rhododendron but surely not a large flowered red one at this time of year.
-
Hello Roma the plant is a huge Begonia of some kind the purple spiked flower with it is plastic cheers Ian
-
Wow that is a huge begonia!

Here are some pictures taken in Ashwood Nursery's propagation house during the pre-Nottingham Tour. The enormous range of color in Lewisias is enough to produce envy in an American. The first photo was taken in the owner's garden (Lewisia 'Carousel hybrids).
-
And a few more................... They were all so beautiful, as was the garden.
-
Wonderful pictures of Lewisias this was one of the first plants I bought at Ashwoods some 30 years ago such a show sorry to say never had time to look around the nursery one thing though John is selling his 2016 calendar which has stunning images no idea if he sends mail order what an excuse to visit, cheers Ian the Christie kind

Thank you Ian (and Adam). I have seen it in catalogues. I'll maybe try it for next year. I do like begonias.
