Now that it's impossible to buy effective fungicide, have any members any tips on preventing damping off, especially with tiny seeds such as calceolaria? I spent the morning microwaving JI no 1 but it's a bit of a faff! Obviously I use jeyes on pots etc

That microwaving stinks too, huh? !!!!!???
I believe that the key to prevention of damping off and many other fungal problems is good air circulation.Loys os ways to achieve that, including fans in glasshouse.

Get a small fan and run it over your seedlings. Another option is a fine dusting of cinnamon powder.
-
Trichoderma harzianum is a beneficial fungus that is supposed to help.

You can still buy copper fungicide in Belgium - Cuprex Garden.
-
Supermarkets even sell copper fungicide for gardens here in New Zealand!

I still use it.
