Title: Damping off
Post by: chrissyboi on October 16, 2015, 04:35:34 PM
Now that it's impossible to buy effective fungicide, have any members any tips on preventing damping off, especially with tiny seeds such as calceolaria? I spent the morning microwaving JI no 1 but it's a bit of a faff! Obviously I use jeyes on pots etc

That microwaving  stinks too, huh? !!!!!???

I believe that the key to prevention of damping off and many other fungal problems is good air circulation.Loys os ways to achieve that, including fans in glasshouse.

Get a small fan and run it over your seedlings. Another option is a fine dusting of cinnamon powder.
