Anyone grown this biennial thistle? If so when did you sow the seeds? TIA.

These thistley things are best sown fresh, I think  - so I'd sow now.

I sprouted my first seeds from the NARGS seed ex in 2011.  Planted in May, the first ones emerged in 9 days.  Seeds were not moist packed, and about half of the seeds germinated.  Since then, I've let them self-sow in the garden.  Seedlings emerge sporadically through the spring.

Thank-you. I am a bit reluctant to allow them to self seed, they are a bit prickly to weed out!
I have sown some now and I will save seed and sow in May as well.
