Out walking yesterday with the grandchildren near our local reservoir we found 4 orchids of 2 slightly different shades. I think they are Marsh orchids but a confirmation would be nice.

I'd call those Dactylorhiza praetermissa - but what do I know? ???
These lovely plants can be very tricky to ID at the best of times- and hybridise readily, when there is an overlap of species, which compounds the difficulty!
A chum wanted to get us to go visit a community of orchids she had spotted (as she travelled on the upper deck of a bus.... a great way to plant spot! ) on a reservoir (underground type) banking. Sadly, the next time she passed and before she had a chance to tell us and arrange a visit - the whole area had been mowed. :'(
