Title: Species identification
Post by: biodiversite on May 24, 2015, 02:46:18 PM
I have identification problems with 2 species presently in bloom :

the first one obtained from seeds years ago : I. spuria ssp. musulmanica ? the plant is relativelly high with large flowers.

The second one was purchased years ago unfer the name I. kamaonensis, witch is not, but I think the plant has an himalayan origin : finally I think to I. sikkimensis.

Could you help m ? thank you !

I believe musulmanica is correct for the first one.

Bio,

I would say Iris halophila [syn I. spuria subsp halophila], the rusty yellow color on the margins of the standards are good indication.
