George Forrest is a very important figure  in the SRGC - after all, our premier plant awards, for the "most meritorious plant in the show " is the George Forrest Memorial Medal!

There are , as you might imagine, references to George Forrest, one of the country's greatest planthunters, in the journals of the SRGC.
In  March 1973 an entire journal was dedicated to George Forrest VMH : http://files.srgc.net/journals/vol_1%20to_113/52.pdf (http://files.srgc.net/journals/vol_1%20to_113/52.pdf)

J. T. Aitken   also wrote   "George Forrest - in Perspective"  in Journal 54/33  :    http://files.srgc.net/journals/vol_1%20to_113/54.pdf (http://files.srgc.net/journals/vol_1%20to_113/54.pdf)

This film is credited to George Forrest (1873-1932) who was associated with the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh and collected plants in Yunnan province, SW China. It dates to around 1930 and shows his collectors and entourage and a festival with stilt walkers in a town, possibly Tengyueh/Tengchong.
